So here are a few pages that I have worked on recently that I have not shared before.
This LO came about after looking at my box full of stamps that I keep buying but never using because I feel I am rubbish at stamping. I decided to go crazy and use a few different stamps on a blank piece of cardstock. I chose some of my favourite stamps and just started going and before I knew it, I had covered the entire cardstock in script. That led me to making a LO that was busy with lots of seemingly unrelated elements. I had so much fun that I might even try using stamps again some day :)
The next LO I wanted to share was a LO that took a long time to come together. I had shuffled elements on the page for a couple of hours which some of you may know - is really not me at all! But then all of a sudden I thought to myself to cut the photo into a circle of just a single butterfly and as soon as I did that - the inspiration flooded me. I couldn't help but smile as I assembled this LO as it came together so well. As soon as I had made the decision to cut the photo the finished LO only took 45 minutes as inspiration took over.
I always used to complain to David that we never got any good photos of the 2 of us together as he was always pulling faces or wouldn't look at the camera and for a scrapbooker - that was such a pain! So, in his defence, for Christmas, he bought me a photo session for the 2 of us. We had fun getting all dressed up and posing and although the professional photographer also struggled with him not pulling faces (apparently that is just his look - he doesn't do it on purpose) we did get a few photos that we liked and bought. Here is 1 of those photos. The embellishments on this page were from a Kaisercraft mystery pack I bought and loved! I had held onto both of these papers for so long and they just seemed right to use together on this page. I also used 2 mists on the script paper which haven't really shown up in the picture but give the page a lovely glisten in real life.
Mum & I keep going to races and getting all dressed up and then the tradition is I try and take a photo of us and we just see how much of each of us (and our fascinators) we actually get in the photo. People always come up and offer to take a "proper" picture of the 2 of us but I love that I have so many relaxed and funny photos of Mum and I together - they never seem posed for, this is just another of those.
For Mum's 50th birthday (last year!) I bought a hot air balloon ride over the Yarra Valley for us all. It was an early, bitterly cold morning but it was so much fun. My Dad actually helped with the preparation and filling of the balloon but once the balloon was up in the air I took loads of photos, including this 1 of my parents together. They both look cold but happy (we obviously weren't too high in the air as Mum - afraid of heights - started to smile less and less the higher we got)

We bought dirt
So I think the most important bit of news to update with is that David and I have bought land and of course it had to be scrapped for a new album dedicated to building our home together so here is the first LO of that album.

WOWSERS...
So my last post mentioned that it had been a while but this post comes 11 months after that post! Goodness me - what has happened in the past year. Not as much scrapping (or shopping) as I would have liked to be completely honest! I have started a new job and bought a block of land to build a nice shiny new house on (and of course scrap every single moment of the adventure)
I really must get back into scrapping - I miss it so in the next post - there will be some LO's. This weekend is a bank holiday weekend so I will make sure I get some done and share with you but until then...

Latest update (it has been a while)
So it has been a very long time. I have been so hectic with work that I haven't really had a chance to sit back, scrap, reflect and all that other stuff normal people do in life!! I have turned 30, been on a holiday to Vanuatu and unsurprisingly bought new shoes and also done a bit of scrapping!

This is a LO of the memorial at Gallipoli for Simpson (1 part of the famous duo, Simpson and his donkey.) I found this to be a very poignant moment during my trip because you learn about Simpson, who was a medic during the war that found a donkey and used it to transport injured soldiers to safety. He was unforunately shot and killed during 1 of his trips to save wounded soldiers. The donkey out survived him.

This is a LO of Digger guarding a lemon that he stole of next doors lemon tree. I am really happy with how this page has turned out.

This is David stood in front of a stretched canvas of Torres and Gerrard at Anfied looking very happy!
I used all scraps of paper for this LO which is good as I have LOADS that I never use but refuse to throw out. I really need to try and use up more of them but I just love using the newest PP I have on each LO!

This is just a simple LO of a more arty pic I took when at Prekistolen in Norway. People that had climbed to the top had built little stone towers and I thought that this 1 had a fantastic view behind it!

This is a LO of the dune buggies in Vanuatu all lined up whilst we stopped off for some lunch at a beachside restaurant. The buggies were great fun to drive but probably also quite dangerous! Oh well - we survived to tell the story.

Sick but scrapping
So I have been off work sick this week due to a virus making me vomit more than I ever have before! It has however given me some time to do some scrapping as I have not had the energy to do anything else! I have done 3 LO's...

This is a LO of my day at the Ballan cup a few months ago. I was a winner on the day overall but kept my losing ticket stubs to use as embellishments on a LO so that is what I did!

This is a vertical 8.5 x 11 inch LO of a stone sculpture cut into the side of a building. There were dozens of these all over Cologne and their detail was just amazing. This 1 was my favourite and is a little boy and girl sitting on a ledge.

This is a LO of some geese in a church garden courtyard in Barcelona that were clearly in love and had stood together so that their necks made a heart shape. Thankfully I capture it just in time and even managed to frame the photo with the lovely ornate arch in the background.

A bit of scrapping
Hi all. Well I got off to a good start for 2011 with a bit of scrapping this week. I have decided I really need to get through some of my old travel photos so made a start on them.
This is a LO of the house that Anne Frank and her family hid in during the war until their capture. I remember reading Anne Frank's book whilst at school and was really amazed by it so when I found myself stood inside the very house that she had written her diaries I was a bit overcome.
The picture doesn't really show it but the bottom left detail is a lovely glittery printed PP and the additional butterflies are from my lovely new Martha Stewart butterfly punch that I got for Christmas and just had to use!!
This photo was taken in Cologne and is of their unique water pipe system...ABOVE ground! We played a daily game of follow the blue pipe through Cologne city centre. I kept the LO fairly simple and just used different alphas to bring interest to the page.
Another LO from Cologne, this time with me posing with a giant Lindt chocolate bunny at the Lindt factory. I love Lindt chocolate bunnies and get 1 for Easter every year so fell in love with the giant bunny and "hopped" (excuse the pun) into his enclosure they had built so I could pose for a photo with him! I saved 1 of the red ribbon and bells from my bunny so that I could decorate my LO with it.

Merry Christmas to me

So as a late Christmas present to myself I finally bought myself a new (for me) car. It is a 2004 Holden Astra convertible and is still in need of a name (Bert has been suggested due to it being a Bertone limited edition but I am just not feeling Bert) So all suggestions are gratefully received. The unfortunate thing is that ever since I bought a convertible, it has poured rain! On the same day as I bought my car I also bought myself a 42 inch SONY LED TV so that would have to go down as my most expensive day on the planet up until this point! Now to start saving for a home loan (gulp)
